The physician reviews the finished piece for factual accuracy. Editorial judgment — including language, emphasis, and what ultimately appears — remains with Vanguard Physician.

Who gets featured
Independent physicians with a story worth reporting. We look for physicians whose career, practice, or approach to medicine gives us something substantive to explore. Vanguard Physician reviews every prospective feature before accepting an engagement.
Editorial policy
One per market.
One physician per specialty, per market, per year. Once a feature is commissioned, that specialty and market remain closed until the following year.
How features are funded
Vanguard Physician profiles are commissioned and funded by the physicians they feature. The fee covers the reporting, writing, editing, credential verification, and publication of the piece. Payment does not purchase a ranking, award, or endorsement. This arrangement is disclosed on every profile.
